We all have a dream of being rich and think that being rich is the best part of human life but what if I tell you that once upon a time being a billionaire in Germany was a CURSE!

World War had just ended and it’s year 1918, probably one of the worst years in German history. Germany had lost the world war to allied power i.e. U.S.A, U.K., France etc. The allied power blamed Germany for the cause of world war 1 and made them pay a compensation fee for the damage they have caused. Germany had to pay more than 2 billion marks (German currency).

Germany was in debt and to get out of this they started to print physical money recklessly, they printed so much money that at a point 1 dollars was equal to 98,860,000 marks, this is known as hyper inflation.

The situation was so bad that people had to carry bags of money just to get a loaf of bread. So if you were a billionaire during 1918 you had a networth of just a few dollars!

This was also one of the reason for the rise of Nazi and Hitler.

So this is how being a billionaire in Germany was curse at a point, if you learnt something new from this article do follow me here and on twitter as well.
